American Maritime Services offers a complete line of cargo space preparation services to get your vessel ready for cargo loading. We prepare the cargo holds to USDA and NCB or Private Surveyors standards for hold acceptance.

Our stated goal regarding our Port Captain service offering is to provide your companies good vessel and crew with the best opportunity to successfully get the holds prepared for her next cargo loading. Our approach assures avoiding any additional cost caused by delays and to maximize ships crew hold cleaning and preparation efficiency.
Our Services are tailored to expedite transition times between cargoes, limiting any damages to cargo or vessel during the loading or unloading of said cargo while maximizing potential for limiting your company's financial exposure. Should the necessity of shore labor be required our port captains will transition from directing vessel crew effort to supervision support for AMS hold cleaning team.

American Maritime Services is happy to announce the opening our new, state of the art, Barge Cleaning Operations Facility located in New Orleans, Louisiana on the Industrial Canal. Nicknamed “The Fry”, being located off of France Rd, our services strive to maintain the highest quality standards of cleaning Barge Tanks, Pipes, and Coils. Lead by a staff with years of experience, we take pride in not only meeting, but exceeding, our customer expectations and providing top tier cleaning services. All operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Our Barge Cleaning Crews are fully certified to include 40hr Hazwoper Training, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and Hazardous / Non-Hazardous Waste Handling and Disposal. All operations and services are performed in an environmentally responsible manner while remaining focused on safety driven goals.
Services provided but not limited to:
AMS is currently the preferred vendor for numerous grain terminals on the Mississippi River where Standard and Japanese style cargo separations are needed. These Separations are completed to USDA standards. Cargo lash downs can also be completed per NCB standards.
